Art & Craft
The Art and Craft class offered here at Words focuses on encouraging self expression in students through creative drawing as well as craft work. Students learn how to mix and match colors as well as the basics of art through a fun and interesting way.
Apart from that, students are encouraged to hone their observation skills as well as their patience through drawing and handicrafts.
Fun IT
In today’s information age, computer skill is a must for every adults and kids. We at Words strongly believe in early preparation and solid foundation setting in every aspect so that your children feel comfortable learning and handling the technology.
At Words, we provide an age group appropriate curriculum and joyful learning environment for your children to nurture interest in IT. Our IT programs are not the same as computer classes conducted in school. We teach your children the foundation and technology skills such as computer operation, touch typing and the use of internet as a “tool” for learning and communication. Classes are conducted in small group by experienced IT professional, so your children received much individualized attention. Our curriculum units incorporate hundreds of sequential learning objects which make learning a fun adventure.
Besides basic computer skill and literacy program, we also conduct specialize computer aided e-tuition at Words. This program is different from traditional class room based teaching and learning. We use web-based instructional multimedia content that is highly interactive to teach students math and science the fun way. The instructional learning objects are designed to capture children attention and make complex concept easy to visualize and grasp. Students can even do the revision at home at their own pace using the internet.
Yoga ~A way of Life~
Yoga, meaning "union of the Body, Mind and Soul" incorporates exercises, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques and meditation. It is an activity that is widely known for its therapeutic effects on a person's body and the psyche as it promotes stress release, health maintenance of a person in and out.
Yoga Classes are conducted by a qualified yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga for the past six years. Apart from that, classes are also conducted on a one instructor to a maximum of eight students ratio. This is to ensure individual attention for all students.
Reading Star
Words' Reading Star is a mandarin reading class offered here at Words which is specially structured to cater for children, especially those starting from fresh; providing them a fun-filled creative learning process that has been proven effective for any child age two and a half onwards.
All classes are conducted by a qualified teacher.
Musikgarten is an early childhood music and development program originated from the USA. It was founded in 1994 by Lorna Lutz Heyge and Audrey Sillick who strongly believed that Children deserve the best teachers and learning materials.
Musikgarten offers a comprehensive, sequential plan for the musical development of children from birth to age 8 with the Class time being educational, fun and purposeful,
The Musikgarten classes offered here at Words are conducted by licensed Musikgarten teachers who will take both parents and children depending on the sub-programs within Musikgarten on a magical journey filled with a of combination of songs, movement games, instruments, story telling, and listening while helping children grow musically, emotionally, socially, as well as cognitively.
The sub-types of classes available are "Family Music for Babies", "Family Music for Toddlers", "Cycle of Seasons", and "Music Makers at the Keyboards"
Tuition & Abacus (Mental Arithmatics)
Both school-syllabus orientated as well as other extracurricular based tuition like Mental Arithmetic and Language classes are offered here at Words.
School-syllabus based classes offer extra coaching and outside school tuition in subjects such as Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin, Mathematics, and Science for National and Chinese schools, both primary (Standard 1 to UPSR) and secondary (Form 1 to PMR).
Other classes offered are Mental Arithmetic which focuses on as well as utilizes the abacus system in teaching; IQ Mathematics, which is taught to children through problems solving; Smart Tuition which is Singapore syllabus based and taught using computers; as well as Language classes for adults.
All classes are conducted by experienced teachers in their respective fields of teaching and are conducted in small groups to ensure much personal attention is given to each student.
Taekwondo (WTF)
Taekwondo (also written as "tae kwon do", "taekwon-do" or "t'aegwondo") is a modern martial art originating from Korea that is characterised by its fast, high and spinning kicks. At Words, we offer Taekwondo classes for children ages 3 and above aiming to improve children's concentration and coordination of movement with special focus in developing their gross motor skills, sense of balance and poise. It also helps instill in young minds the importance of exercise in healthy living while encouraging human interaction through the training sessions that teaches much discipline and respect for others.
